Veneer hides what a table is made of. Solid timber shows it, and it can be repaired for decades.

What you are paying for

A veneered panel is a thin slice of good wood glued over something cheaper. It looks right on the day it arrives. Solid timber looks right on the day it arrives and on the day your grandchildren scratch it.

A scratch in solid walnut can be sanded out. A scratch in veneer is there for good.

Why it costs more

Solid boards move with the seasons, so every joint has to allow for it. That takes more time at the bench and more timber in the rack. We think it is the only honest way to build something meant to last.
