Grove and Grain is a bespoke furniture and woodworking studio of a few people and a lot of timber. We take on a small number of commissions each year and build them slowly, for rooms we will probably never see.
It started with one table
The first piece we made was a table for a friend, because nothing in the shops was made to last. Word travelled, and the second table became a workshop.
We take on a few commissions at a time
A few pieces on the bench at once is as many as we can make well. Each one stays with the same hands from first sketch to last coat of oil.
Nothing waits in a warehouse
Everything is built when you ask for it. That means less waste, no unsold stock, and a piece made for the room you actually have.
Honest materials
Solid timber, real cane, natural fibres. If it cannot age well, we do not use it.
Repair over replace
Every frame is built to come apart and go back together, and we will mend what we made.
